XMPEG.net is the official webpage for the Open Source XMPEG encoding software.

XMPEG is a open source converter built on MPEG1/MPEG2/AC3 high quality decoders. It exports video and audio frames through an Adobe Premiere compatible interface. The basic video editing funtionalities use the best algorythms to preserve the maximum quality (HQ Bicubic 0, 0.75). In addition, it supports with AVIWriter the latest encoding format (H264 and AAC, DivX6.4).

The plugins furnished in this package allow you to create your own DivX, MPEG4 part 10 (H264)/part 2, DVD, SVCD with the optimum output quality. XMPEG is a reference in offline encoding tool world.

The lastest developments will allow PSP H264 AVC files and lastest streaming formats.

A wizard is available to help beginners in a simple way how to do backups in a couple of clicks.

XMPEG's latest kernel structure/codecs optimizations seems to give the overall best conversion speed. Supporting MPEG2-TS transport format and streaming capabilities, Teletext/VBI ES muxing will allow STB decoding with native TV subtitling/STB OSD technologies.

A improved version of XMPEG 5.0.3 will be published within a few weeks. The XMPEG 6.0 version is comming with a new interface and input codecs.
